Help for our beautiful Paz
Canterbury
Hi everyone. You may already know this beautiful wee fam, even if you don't, you may like to help us!
Sarah and Matt met in Thailand on 22 may 2011. They now have two beautiful girls. Willow Huxtable is 4 years old, huge personality and loves to hold your face when she gives you a kiss. She was over the moon to find out she would become a big sister. Paz(peace in Spanish) Huxtable arrived before lunch on the 18th September 2017 via a medically advised c-section. She had a full mop of gorgeous brown curls and big blue eyes. However Pazs' arrival came with some apprehention as at her 20 week scan, it was found she had a large lump on the right side of her torso. Many options were discussed and eventually both mum, dad and doctors decided to wait until Paz had arrived and assess growth post natal. Paz was a happy, calm little soul. The growth was diagnosed as a lymphangianoma (a malformation of parts of the lymphatic system). It did not seem to be bothering her she carried on being cute and sleeping like an angel!!
Just over two weeks ago, Paz was grumpy(completely out of character!)so Mum took her into hospital where the doctors realized her temperature was very high. She was put on antibiotics as the first diagnosis was cellulitis. However after a week, these were not working so many different options were tried. Lots of poking, prodding, morphine, paracetamol and many sleepless nights, the lymphangianoma started to grow. The doctors decided on surgery to drain the growth and try a new type of antibiotics. After looking like they may be on the good road, Pazs temp went back up and lump started to fill back up. Paz is now having some blood work, protein infusions and potentially a full blood transfusion.
So after thinking a few days in hosptial and the family would be back together, we have all been on tenterhooks waiting daily for the news of our most beautiful little family addition. and if we are feeling like this I cannot imagine how it must be for Sarah, Matt and Willow. Sarah and Paz have now been in hospital for nearly a month
Our plan for this page is to hopefully try to raise some funds to help cover Sarahs loss of wage, any potential uncovered surgery for Paz or even just a little bit so Sarah,Matt and Willow could have a nice day out together...a massage for Sarah? Anything we can do to help!!!
Family member. Want to do anything we can to help our wee Paz.
