Please support Sarah to have much-needed surgery and medication to help her get healthy again.

Auckland

Beautiful Sarah has had Chrons Disease for 7 years and for 6 of those years she has tried every medicine and health practice possible.

Recently the medical team said that Sarah has tried so hard her body has started rejecting all the meds so they have had to refer her for surgery. “It was one of the worst days of my life as it left me with a colostomy bag”. They told her it was a 3 step process which needed 3 operations, that would all be done within a year, last May Sarah had the first operation.

“I hated the bag I got depressed, I stopped going out because I didn’t want people to know.” It’s now July of the following year and she is about to have her second operation which is called a j pouch surgery.

This surgery is a big operation and is not something the surgeons want to do - if her body rejects it she’s stuck with the bag for the rest of her life. She needs to do all she can to prevent this from happening. There is a medication they can give her through injection or iv every day for the first week after the surgery and then it goes down to one a week. This gives her a fighting chance for the j pouch to work - here in New Zealand the vaccine is not funded and has only just come out so she would be one of the first to try it - the cost is $2,500, money she does not have.

Due to being so sick with Chrons and the medication making her tired all the time, Sarah has had to quit her job, Sarah is the single mother of 7-year-old Payton and would love to get well for Paytons sake too.

The mediation has worked wonders in America so she’s hoping to raise the money to be able to have this operation work. If the surgery is a success in 3-6 months time she can have the final surgery where they reserve it all and she’ll no longer need the bag and will be chrons free.

“If I can have the option of this new medication I want it and then fingers crossed I can have the final operation and then I won’t have to have any pills as I would have been cured.” This would give Sarah a new lease on life and time spent with Payton.

Sarah has been to WINZ and unfortunately, they can’t help so we are supporting her fundraising initiatives.

”I want to get the money together to fight this with everything I have.”

Please help Sarah today.
