Please can you help Sarah get to Shanghai and compete against the worlds best Archers.
Auckland
This money is going towards her flights, accommodation, full team uniform, insurance for her gear, maintenance and spare parts, and a travel visa.
Hi, I'm Amy. This is my twin sister Sarah. She is a top ranking Archery superstar right here in New Zealand. She has come right from bottom with hard work, determination and has a dream of being at the top of her field. She's there. She has paid for her all this out of her own pocket.
Now she has the opportunity to compete on the world stage. Sarah has achieved the high standard of scores required to compete in the Archery World Cup Series, with the first one starting in Shanghai this May, competing against gold medallists and Olympians.
As well has having a full time job, Sarah has to train every day to hone her skills, to perfect the art of perfection. She travels to tournaments almost every weekend, sometimes driving up to 6 hours.
I have asked politicians and sports ministers, companies and friends to help her get her goal. This year will see her flying internationally up to 5 times! I make cupcakes to try and help out but this needs to be on a much bigger scale :).
New Zealand, I am asking for your help please. There is no funding for this sport in NZ, you have to go out and find your own. It is a minority sport. No female Recurve shooter from New Zealand has made it to the World Cup for a long time so this is huge for her, for us.
Sarah needs to be there representing New Zealand as the only woman going in a small team of 5, each paying their own way.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, thank you for your donations and thank you for your messages of support. Help us bring back the gold!
