Saskia and Vera's dancing

Hi everyone, I am Saskia's and Vera's mum,(Annika). I have created this Givealittle page to help fund Saskia and Vera's ongoing dance related costs.

I am a solo mother, with two extremely talented little daughters - Saskia and Vera. Though Vera is still young, both girls are dance crazy. We as a family have got to a point now, where I am only just able to cover the basic costs of Saskia's current dancing, for her to proceed and go further with dance, we need help. Vera is following in Saskia's footsteps, and although still only five absolutely loves dancing.

Saskia received distinction, and distinction with honors on her last exams for RAD ballet and NZAMD jazz. Saskia also completed her first set of lyrical solo comps last year, gaining first, second, and third. Saskia has started a new lyrical solo which we are very excited about. Saskia currently takes five dance classes a week, and Vera takes two.

Both girls love dancing, its their passion, and in their dreams. It's their safe place but also, it keeps Saskia's lungs healthy. Saskia has a chronic lung disease called Bronchiectasis, since diagnosed with this disease, Saskia threw herself into dance as a way to express herself while at the same time, keeping her fit, healthy and helping her breath a lot easier through posture and breathing techniques. For anyone who knows Vera, you will know she is a feisty wee lass and very dramatic - her behavior tests all boundaries but she is at her best while at dance.

Some of the costs needed for dance include things like shoes (ballet, jazz, character, toe undies) ranging from $40.00 to $80 each! Uniforms, around $50 - $70 each, costumes $50 - $100.00 each, stockings / socks $25.00 each. Not to mention term fees, and traveling costs. We thankfully already receive discounts for term fees as both girls participate, but this still comes to hundreds of dollars every term.

Dance is our life, its been (other than myself and my family) the only constant in these girls lives. Saskia is driven, works extremely hard for hours at a time, and dreams of being a professional dancer. I hate that I cannot just give them the world, but at least through this Givealittle page and your help, we can afford dance necessities without lacking elsewhere like food, or petrol.
