    Good morning everyone,

I want to take a moment to sincerely thank each and every one of you for your kindness and generosity in helping to save Dexter. Your support has meant the world.

I apologize for the delay in sharing an update—I’ve been dealing with a bit of a medical emergency myself. I recently broke my shoulder and had to undergo surgery. It’s been a challenging time, but Dexter has been right by my side, offering the best kind of support, just as a true friend should.

I’m happy to share that Dexter has been doing really well. Since the fluid was drained, his heart has remained strong, and thankfully, there have been no signs of it returning. We remain hopeful that it stays this way.

Thank you again for your care and support—it truly makes a difference.

    With gratitude,

    Albert

  • Update on Dexter the Lab

      11 January 2025

    Hi Everyone,

We wanted to share a quick update and a video of Dexter with you.

Thanks to the operation, the vet was able to drain the fluid that had built up around his heart. Dexter is feeling so much better now—his playful spirit is returning, and it’s such a relief to see him acting more like his old self again.

While we know the fluid may return and this is a temporary fix, we’re holding onto hope and cherishing every moment with him.

We are incredibly grateful to each and every one of you for opening your hearts and supporting Dexter. Your kindness has made all the difference during this challenging time.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.

    Hi All.

Just wanted to share some a little good news on Dexter.

We had to take him in for a Pericardiocentesis (what the Dr. Called it)

He had fluid that built up in the sac that surrounds his heart which led to the rest of his organs not receiving enough blood to function properly.

The procedure went well and they drained the access fluid from the sac.

Unfortunately this is only a temporary solution as bleeding is most likely to return.

The only solution to save him is to undergo surgery to remove the sac around his heart where the fluid is building up.

But we are in high spirits as we at least have some time to play with and not go to any hasty decisions.

Dex is currently doing well. Sleeping a lot and catching some sunshine when he can.

Thanks again for everyone's support during this difficult time.
