Save our Community Charity and Shop's in Manawatu Street, Palmerston North.

Palmerston North, Manawatu-Wanganui

The Palmerston North Street Van has been running a Charity Shop in Manawatu Street since 2014 to support our Saturday Night Street Van service in the Square in Palmerston North, feeding 40 to 50 people per night as well as transporting people stranded in town at night. But the time has come when our elderly landlord is looking at selling. If we lose this property it will put in jeopardy both our King Street, Charity Shop and offices. To archive this we need to raise $200,000 to $500,000 in capital.

This is an investment in the community in a low income area of Palmerston North were we provide low cost and free goods to those in need.

The property also houses a hair dresser and other low cost rents business which would be lost from the local community of Manawatu Street if sold.

About us

Palmerston North Street Van was started in 1994, with a purpose to serve the public within the Square at night by providing hot drinks and food to anyone who needs them. We have grown since then, and we provide a "take home" van for those who find themselves in need of a ride home. During the week, we provide transport for other organisations and deliver food to various organisations and families. To find out more information check out Pnsv.org.nz

Use of funds

The money will go towards a deposit on purchasing the Manawatu Street Charity and Shops complex or a suitable alternative property in this area. If we can not reach our target the money will go to providing community services.
