This page is a heartfelt appeal for help to save our home, highlighting our struggles, the urgent need for support.
Masterton, Wellington
My name is Henriëtte, and I moved to New Zealand as an 18-year-old, full of dreams for a better life. I believed in this country, in the opportunities it would provide, and in the dream of owning a home—a place where my children could grow up safe, loved, and full of hope for their future. I worked hard for everything I’ve ever had. I studied, worked tirelessly, and built my life from the ground up and saved everything to give my two daughters a future full of opportunities—a future I never had. We worked so hard to buy our first home, a safe place for my girls to grow and chase their dreams. I even brought my elderly parents into our home, knowing they struggled on their retirement income. This house was meant to be a fresh start for us all.
But everything came crashing down when I lost my job. I’ve used all my redundancy money and cut every corner to survive. Despite my best efforts, we are still $40,000 short of saving our home. We don’t qualify for government support, and no matter how hard I try, we are running out of time. In 45 days, our home will be taken from us.
I’ve been trying everything to find work, waiting for the government to start projects, but for now, I need help to save our home. Please, if you can, help us during this critical time so my family doesn’t lose everything we’ve worked for. Every little bit counts, and I’ll never stop fighting for my family. I’ve fought my whole life to create a better future, and I’m not ready to lose it all now.
All funds raised will go towards the $40,000 needed to prevent our home from being sold at mortgage sale, allowing us to keep our home and provide stability for our family.
Thank You for Your Support – We’re Still Fighting! 4 August 2025
Dear friends and supporters,
First, I want to thank each and every one of you who has supported us so far. Your generosity means the world to my family and me. Every donation, no matter how small, is making a difference in keeping our home and our hopes alive.
As many of you know, our situation has been incredibly challenging. After recently losing my job, we’ve been doing everything we can to stay afloat. We’ve sold personal assets, put our debts on hold, and are doing everything in our power to get back on our feet. But we still need help. We are running out of time, with just 45 days to come up with $40,000 to save our home from mortgage sale.
The support from our community—through donations and kind words—has been truly heartwarming. However, we still have a long way to go. I continue to search for employment and am hopeful that opportunities will come soon. In the meantime, every donation counts, and we are deeply grateful for each one.
If you haven’t donated yet, please consider sharing our page with your network. If you know someone who might be able to help, please forward the link. Every bit of support helps us move closer to saving our home.
Thank you again for your ongoing support. It’s people like you that give us hope.
With gratitude,
Henriëtte and family
