St Peter's is wanting to erect a remembrance wall so families connected to St Peter's can put their personalized plaque on the wall for their loved ones.
Te Kopuru's St Peter's Church has been successful in obtaining $162,000 through the Provincial Growth Fund process thanks to the support of Hon. Shane Jones.
These funds will see the much needed major repairs done such as; bell tower, reroofing, weatherboards and painting.
This money however will not stretch to include the replica fence to be built (see historic photo for reference) and other smaller updates to complete the historic churches upgrade, so any help towards these costs will still be very much appreciated.
For those interested, we received the following quotes in 2018 for the work required to restore the church and adjacent hall.
These costs below are excluding GST, and potentially out of date with increased costs.

ROOF REPLACEMENT - HALL: $28,000.00
TOTAL COST: $147,870 Excluding GST....
So as you can see, we have our work cut out for us and our small rural community.
