Guinness World Record attempt to run the length of NZ. Helping NZDF and First Responders with mental health.
Nationwide
Over the period of Dec 19 - Jan 2020 Menna plans to run the full length of New Zealand. That's top to bottom of both islands! The total distance is approximately 1,400 miles. Menna will be running 34 miles a day for 42 consecutive days to complete this challenge. Thats like 42 consecutive Marathons!
This challenge will be dedicated to my late cousin, Ian Davies. He struggled with mental health issues and sadly passed away last November. I am not afraid to admit, that I also suffered with depression and anxiety, it can be so debilitating. Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. But hundreds of thousands of people are still struggling.
I therefore couldn’t think of a more poignant charity to be raising money for than - SAVE THE BRAVE who is helping the men and women of NZDF and First Responders with alternative support therapies.
Alongside the Trustees, we are setting up Save the Brave Trust to provide mental health support for NZDF and First Responders wellbeing.
The funds raised from this event of breaking the Guinness world record for running the length of NZ will be utilized to set up SAVE THE BRAVE, including Trust Set Up and Board Training, but also financially support the mental health initiatives we will are implementing.
