We’re raising funds to continue the only cancer treatment (Keytruda) that’s working for our dad, David Ravenwood.
Dunedin, Otago
After over two years of fighting cancer, we finally have hope—Dad’s (David Ravenwood) immunotherapy is working. His tumours are shrinking, and we’ve been given a chance we never thought we’d have: more time.
We’ve tried everything. Public treatments are exhausted, and we previously paid for immunotherapy out of pocket, only to stop when scans showed no effect. But months later, a surprise follow-up scan showed a delayed response—it’s working.
Now we need your help to keep going. The treatment is called Keytruda. Dad does not meet the marks for public funding. This life-saving treatment costs $7,800 every three weeks, plus $2,150 in admin fees—nearly $10,000 per cycle. It’s the only thing that’s made a difference.
Our dad is everything to us—steady, loving, and humble. He’s a father to three, grandfather to four, and a quiet rock for everyone who knows him. We want more time with him—and he wants more time with us.
All funds go directly toward his treatment.
Every dollar helps. Please help us give Dad the gift of time.
Our dad has always been our rock—steady, loving, and quietly strong—and now it’s our turn to stand by him
All funds will go directly toward Davids immunotherapy treatment (Keytruda) and associated medical costs.
Hospital Visits 21 May 2025
Unfortunately the date for treatment has had to be pushed back. Dad has spent the better part of a week in hospital due to a virus. It was a huge scare and reality check for all of us. Even when we are told things are looking upwards a curve ball can hit at any moment. Dad is home resting and recovering hoping to restart treatment in a few weeks.
Thank you for all the support we have recieved thus far. We are all truly grateful
