Saving the kindest man in the world.

We came to NZ from South Africa about 3 years ago.

I am a nurse, and Danie, my husband, is in the building industry. We have 3 great teenagers, of whom the eldest have just finished high school.

My husband is the best person I know, and when in late August this year he got diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer we were in shock. I remember finding this out at work.

I remember phoning him, thinking how stupid of me it is to share this with him over the phone. I did it anyway.

He was very quiet on the other side, and I was useless at work, so I went home and our journey began. Without choice or reason. Not unlike so many before us.

Life has changed for us. It's a bit of a lonely road with everyone on the other side of the world. We did figger out a few good things though and one of the good things we figgered out is that cancer can be beaten. Unfortunately so many of the valuable treatments is not funded. We found this out the hard way, and with our credit card maxed out, I finally decided to ask for help.

Financial help.

Without a way to pay for Danie's IV VIT C infusions, ozone, specialized tests, consultations and expensive supplements, we are stuck.

With help we can move forward and get him well again. We can give him a chance to see his kids get married and a chance to grow really old with me! (whether he likes it or not!)

I didn't plan my life here in NZ without him. There is no back-up husband that understands me the way he does. There is no mom to run to and no sister to hug. No way I'm losing him.

This is why I'm asking for help.
