Saving the Palmerston Town Hall
We are raising funds to buy Palmerston Town Hall in East Otago before the sale period closes on 13 July. We will fundraise till 5pm 11 July

The Trust intends to purchase the Town Hall and return it to use and ownership by the Palmerston and Waihemo community of East Otago. The land and building is currently for sale and we are trying to raise funds before the sale period closes on the 13th July. We will raise funds till 5pm on 11 July. Time is short!
The building is important because of its architecture, history, and heritage values. It was designed by renowned architect Edmund Anscombe.
The trust intends to renovate and restore the building for contemporary purposes. It consists of a large auditorium accessible from Sanday St. and the specious ground floor offices on Ronaldsay St (SH1). The Trust has letters of recommendation from Heritage NZ, Waitaki District Council and an independent heritage architect.

If we are unsuccessful, funds raised through Givealittle will be used for other community projects.

Puketapu Community Trust is a registered charitable trust located in Palmerston, East Otago. Our purpose is to carry out projects for the betterment of community life in the Waihemo Ward of the Waitaki District.
