Neil is 74 years of age and needs Cataract surgery before he looses his vision completely. We are seeking help for private surgery.
Southland
Neil is 74 years of age he spent his working life as a shoe repairer before working for South roads and being made redundant 20 years ago.
He has had major health issues since he was born and now has cataracts on both eyes.
His left eye has the white light effect meaning vision has been lost completely and the right eye the doctors believe if not treated will do the same before Christmas.
He has been waiting on the public health list for well over 2 years with no results, Private surgery is looking like the only way to save the vision he has left.
Neil and Yvonne are pensioners that haven't had the easiest time lately with Yvonne having incurable cancer and currently undergoing hernia surgery.
Neil spent many years after he was made redundant working voluntarily for a Southland country radio show on a Sunday morning his on air name was BO Bear and many tuned in to hear his show.
Neil and Yvonne although on a pension also think of others and donate what they can monthly to Star ship Ronald McDonald house so that family's can get the help they need.
I ask that you can do the same for Neil now to enable him to keep the sight he has left.
This page will be updated frequently with how Neil is progressing.
I'm Neil and Yvonne's daughter, I am moderating this page as they don't have a computer.
Funds raised will be used for private cataract surgery, Travel and specialist appointments.
