Devastated family of 7 lose everything in house fire.

One of our Hora Hora families have lost all their possessions when their house went up in flames (24 April 2021). They were uninsured but escaped with their vehicles and the clothes on their back. Our wonderful community have responded kindly with clothes, food and other necessities to carry them through in the short term.
Luckily they have found some accommodation for now, however their situation is complicated as the father, prior to the fire is being made redundant on 31 May.
With five children, aged 10 months, 3 yrs, 10yrs, 13 yrs and 15 yrs to support, their financial situation has become quite dire.

I represent Hora Hora school, a small country primary school in the Lake Karapiro district which 39 children currently attend.
Use of funds
Donations will be used to replace some household items, personal effects (eg. 2 laptops for school) and living expenses, particularly if the father is still unemployed.

UPDATE - Family of 7 who lost everything in house fire 9 May 2021
Well, our family has found emergency accommodation and are settling into their new home for now. The response for help has come from the local community as well as from further afield. They have been inundated with food, furniture and clothing, and local charities have made up the shortfall. It has been a long two weeks but they are starting now to feel more settled.
The money from this page will go towards replacing 2 laptops for the two oldest children, the eldest is sitting NCEA this year. Please SHARE OR FORWARD on. We will need at least $2000 for two laptops.
