On Saturday Pankaj, his brother Parag and Mike visited IDBI Bank in Ojhar to open the bank account that will receive the funds from the walk. The materials for the schools will be purchased using money in this account.
Mike has had lots of experience talking to media one on one. For Pankaj even that wasn't something he had done before.
In Mumbai we faced a room full of newspaper radio and TV journalists in a press conference that ran for 1 hour. The concept of walking for charity is new to India and we faced a lot of questions about how and why.
We have assured them that at least one of us will complete the walk.
On Friday Pankaj and Mike met Vishwanath Mahadeshwar the Mayor of Mumbai. He gave us his blessing and Mkke presented him with a box of Butlers chocolates. He has agreed to send us on our way on Monday with a wave of a saffron flag.
