School Run Tragedy

What was supposed to be a typical 3pm school run for the Ferguson family on Monday 29 August turned into a traumatic and devastating event. Much loved and charismatic Dad, Andrew, was heading towards his local school Hukanui to collect his two younger children Isabel and Aiden and then his older son Lachlan from Rototuna Junior High. During the commute to Chartwell carpark Andrew suffered a massive heart trauma which saw Andrew crash the car, veering safely and remarkably, into a median strip. Local residents and staff rallied to support until the arrival of police and medical services. Unfortunately, Andrew could not be resuscitated and passed away despite the best efforts of the emergency response team.

Karen now finds herself in a position of being a solo mother of three young children, struggling to comprehend how she can manage this around work and the well being of her family. Karen, who migrated from Germany has no immediate family to support her and is struggling to make sense of her shattered world. Andrew did not have life insurance.

Karen and her children would genuinely appreciate any donations to support in the short term, address costs of living, pay the rent and allow her some much needed time to come to grips with the loss of Andrew.

Andrew he was a charismatic, humorous good bloke, awesome playful dad, loving husband and well regarded within the local community. He was easily recognisable by his chopper-like moustache and massive smile.
