    Apologies for taking so long to post this final update. Jetlag and getting back to work :-). Erin and Isla finished the worlds in 21st place out of 210. Day four was very light and a big lesson for them in big fleet light weather sailing so they dropped down the fleet a little. Day 5 they were back on form sitting in 12th but gear failure and a black flag in race 14 cost them dear. Overall a massive learning experience and a credible finish. Thanks so much to you all for your generous support. The girls are keen to move into the more powerful 29er class so watch this space! Thank you all!!

  • Day 1 Gold Fleet

    Erin and Isla have had an awesome 1st day in worlds gold fleet. Results of 4th, 10th, 13th and a discarded 46th have them sitting at 13th overall and 2nd girls. Looking forward to a different challenge with light winds forecast tomorrow.

    Mixed first day for Erin and Isla. 25th in first race, second race in the lead around weather mark, finished 8th, 3rd race 13th. Goal is to qualify for gold fleet tomorrow.

  • Update from the RS Feva European Champs in Hungary

    Erin and Isla had a difficult first day in Hungary with a 16th, ocs and 8th placed finishes. Day 2 had no wind so no sailing. On day three they went out and scored a 2nd place in race 4 and followed that up with 5th, 8th and 5th place finishes. After 7 races they are sitting 7th out of 52 boats and 2nd women. Temperatures in the 30s and 10 to 12 kts of wind. Last day tomorrow.

  • Practice Day at the European Championships

    Erin and Isla have arrived in Hungary for the European Championships. They've got their boat and spent the day setting it up and having a sail on Lake Balaton in the practice races.

  • Last Training Session for team NZ

    The three crews going to the worlds got together at Doves Bay for a last weekend of training. NZ will be represented in the female, junior and open categories. A light wind Saturday was followed by a squally Sunday resulting in a varied and intensive training. The girls are packing this week and heading off to Europe on Sunday. It getting close and everyone is excited.

  • Another win for Erin and Isla.

    Preparations for the worlds are going well. Last Sunday they won the Red Socks regatta at Waitangi in very light winds. For the final weekend in New Zealand the junior champs from the nationals are coming North to train with Erin and Isla.
