Ukrainian troops with NZ socks

Kia ora friends of Ukraine!

I'm slowly receiving images of the socks being delivered to the troops. Sorry it's taken a while but there's a lot of operational sensitivity around locations, units etc.

It's great to see the socks reaching the front line where they're needed.

Many thanks to everyone who donated.

Good luck to Ukraine for the upcoming spring offensive!

Kiwi socks are warming Ukrainian feet!

Kia ora friends of Ukraine.

It took longer than expected but the socks are now in Ukraine, keeping Ukrainian feet toasty warm. It's still cold in Ukraine so a pair of NZ wool socks will be very handy.

Thank you to everyone that donated to SOS – Send Our Socks – you're wonderful humans.

I'll update with more photos as they come to hand.

The socks have arrived in Poland

Kia ora friends of Ukraine.

Just letting you know that 1,385 pairs of NZ wool socks have arrived in Poland – they will be transported into Ukraine and distributed within the next few days.

It's taken a bit longer than expected to get to this point, but it's still very cold there so a pair of NZ wool socks will be very useful.

I'll update with photos as I receive them.

The socks are getting packed

Hello friends,

A quick update:

The NZ Sock co are busy preparing 1,235 pairs of socks to be sent to Poland. Each pair comes in a wrapper with the SOS – Send Our Socks logo and a message in English and Ukrainian that says 'New Zealand wool socks. For the brave people of Ukraine from your friends in New Zealand'.

I'll update you again when the socks leave NZ on their journey to Ukraine.

Over 1,200 pairs of socks

Hello friends of Ukraine.

The givealittle page is now closed. Thank you very much to the 464 wonderful people who donated over $26,000 to send NZ wool socks to Ukraine. You make me proud to be a kiwi.

The socks will be packaged up and freighted as soon as we can get them to Ukraine. I'll update you along the way.

Extending SOS Send Our Socks by one week

Hello friends of Ukraine!

Quick update:

After a slow start, we got some real momentum in the last week, hitting $20,000 on Wednesday. Thanks to everyone who donated.

Auckland-based PR firm, One Plus One communications, have kindly offered to help spread the word so it makes sense to extend the campaign by one week to capitalise on the additional media coverage (no pressure One Plus One!).

I've also revised the goal down to a more realistic figure of $60,000 – that's three pallets of 1,000 pairs of socks (enought to keep 6,000 feet warm!).

We hit $20,000

Great news: we just hit the $20k mark. That's enough to send 1,000 pairs of wool socks to Ukraine. Thank you everyone for your support and donations!

More good news: One Plus One communications have offered to help me promote SOS – Send Our Socks, so you might hear more about it in the media over the next week.
