My Brother in law has a long road ahead recovering from SAP, help ease the financial pressure for his family while he heals
Wellington
This years Easter celebrations ended abruptly for my sister Kirsty, and her families life was completely turned upside down.
My Brother in law Jamaine, young fit and healthy. Went from thinking he was coming down with a simple cold to being on life support and dialysis in Wellington ICU within 48hours. Severe Acute Pancreatitis caused by a gallstone devestated their family out of no where!
None of us even knew what the pancreas was for let alone how deadly it could be if it got damaged. It is the one organ the doctors cant do anything to help heal, it has to heal on its own.
Jamaine was in a induced coma for nearly 2weeks before waking and beginning his long road to rehabilitation and recovery. At every turn he seems to be hit with complications and set backs and even frequent re-admissions to hospital he never gives up, he is determined to fight for himself and for his family. Even when he was ready to share his story he did so with the goal of helping others, testament to the man he is.
Kirsty is currently juggling working full time from home so she is able to support Jamaine with his needs throughout the day, taking him into Wellington for weekly appointments, running around after their 2 teenagers and supporting their extra curricular activities as well as general running a household duties.
While i know they are a tight knit family determined to do it all on their own. Reality is the journey they are on right now is a long one atleast another 6months till Jamaine is close to being back to his best, and while they are currently managing on 1 income life doesnt budget to your income and random bills and expenses will pop up. Plus the on going cost of weekly hospital visits and errands and things does add up. So ive started this account so anyone wanting to can support Jamaines recovery and take one less stress off their shoulders during this rough road they have ahead them.
Jamaine is my brother in law, kirsty is my sister
Funds will be used to cover any unexpected bills and expenses that come up while jamaine is still recovering as well as helping with day to day things like hospital parking, petrol, electricity. All things that are part of supporting his recovery.
