Shane's is Making Huge Strides in his Recovery
29 April 2016Wow! Thank you every one for your generosity, Shane and Nicki have been overwhelmed by the response to his injury, and wish to convey their thanks to every person who has contributed. The money raised means that Shane will be able to have Nicki and his children visit him often while he continues to recover.
Today Nicki was able to take Josh, Keira, and Rylee to see Shane for the first time since the crash. This has been a big day, as they have been worried and missing their dad immensely – but they were all so happy to see how far he has come since the crash.
Shane has been determined to reach new milestones every day and the doctors have been marvelling at Shane’s recovery so far. He has gone from nearly complete paralysis and loss of sensation to having feeling slowly return to his body – and he has regained some strength and movement. He has been in the gym over the last few days, has been walking short distances with the aid of a frame and is able to remain standing in an upright position unaided. His left hand has been stubborn though, and he remains unable to use it.
He is seeing an improvement every day and we are all optimistic that his recovery is on track!
