Thought I would explain why you have been invited to follow my ride and a little of the back ground.

Shauna is fighting to beat Leukaemia for the second time in her short ten years. She is due for a bone marrow transplant mid January so I thought it would be nice to show her our support. I am a novice rider at best and have known Niall, Kerry and Shauna for many years (Yes and shared a few beers) My hope for this dedication is to show Shauna we all love and care for her so much and willing to go through a little pain.

Also to raise the awareness and funding to help the fight against Leukaemia. Its purpose also is to donate some funding to Shauna herself to start thinking about where she wants to go for a holiday after she kicks this thing.

As some of you know I rode the north Island last year. That experience helped me realise many things about myself and what motivates me. So when my good friend’s daughter was diagnosed with Leukaemia again I thought what can I do to show them they are not alone and we are all standing behind them. So Shauna this ride is dedicated to you a strong beautiful girl full of personality and loved by many.

Hi Tim, I spotted this a few weeks ago on one of Kerry's posts and finally got back to it to read it more closely. What an awesome gesture. Kerry and I went to school together in Paraparaumu and only reconnected on facebook recently. We don't chat as such but I'm incredibly moved by her posts and the difficult journey they're going through. I have a 9 yr old daughter myself and I can't begin to imagine what they're going through. So, this is just my little way of contributing to Kerry, Shauna and Niall. ??
