Project Tongariro do great work in an around the Tongariro National Park.
I'll shave off my awesome beard if Project Tongariro receive $1000 in donations.
I first heard of them when I started trail running: the first event I entered was the Tussock Traverse, which is a run from the eastern edge of the park near the Desert Road, over the Tama Saddle between Ngauruhoe and Ruapehu, finishing on the lawn at the Chateau.
The Tussock Traverse is a fundraiser for Project Tongariro.
Unfortunately, this year weather forced the Tussock Traverse to be cancelled. There were gale force winds and snow down to course levels (in summer!?).
I hate shaving and never want to do it. But if Project Tongariro receive $1000 in donations through this page, I'll do it.
