Shave it off! A better Christmas for Starships Bone Marrow Transplant families ♡

For the past two years Dylan has been growing his hair out with the intention of donating it to be created into a wig for those undergoing hair loss due to cancer treatments. This donation was inspired by our own daughter Frankie (8), who has spent the past 6 years battling blood cancer under the loving care of Starship Oncology. Each time our beautiful girl has lost her lovely long red hair due to chemotherapy & radiation, Dylan has shaved his also in support.

Unfortunately due to a change in our life circumstances last month he will need to shave his hair once more, before it reaches the 35cm needed to donate as a wig. This however doesn’t stop our ability to fundraise regardless. Our hope is to raise as many funds as possible to support the other families in the Bone Marrow Transplant unit of Starship’s Oncology floor. There is no ideal time to be spending weeks/months in a hospital however the festive season is one that brings an extra layer of heartbreak. We hope that through this fundraising we can bring a small amount of joy & financial relief this Christmas to the other families who are having to dig so deep for their children.

There is no donation too big or too small, please even think of $5 as shouting a parent a coffee after a sleepless night. We truely appreciate all of the support!

The shave will be taking place on October 31st 2023.
