SHC Kapa Haka Hawaii trip

The Sacred Heart College Kapa Haka group is travelling to Hawaii in April to attend the Ho’olaule’a Merrie Monarch International Festival in Hilo. Sacred Heart is a Catholic Marist school with boys from many backgrounds so funding this trip has been a huge stretch. Given the enormity and privilege that comes from being invited to attend this international cultural event and the exposure this trip offers we are seeking your help.

32 boys from our Kapa Haka group will be participating in the opening ceremony at this international cultural festival where they will meet other school cultural groups from around the world. Then they head to Waikiki for several smaller performances. From this experience, the boys will use the knowledge gained to expand on the cultural experience back here at home.

The group is working hard on fundraising to make this trip possible. This is an amazing once in a lifetime cultural opportunity for these boys encouraging them to broaden their leadership skills and citizenship values equipping them for lifelong learning.
