Support for setting up her home in Oamaru + any short trips she has the energy for.
Oamaru, Otago
Sadly Shelley's condition has become much worse. She now has 3 drop metastasis in her spine, these has been caused by the disease travelling down through the spinal fluid. There are 2 in the cervical & 1 in her lumbar. Sadly her body is shutting down.
She starting 10 days radiation from Monday 6th. This radiation will hopefully reduce these & give her one last burst of pain free time, unsure of how much. This will give her a chance to do some more things with the people she loves & we are making those plans already, however for now we need to get her through the treatment.
Her treatment is in Dunedin for the next 2 weeks, hopefully by then we will have found a big beautiful house with a view for the two of us in Oamaru, we can have her people come visit & prepare for the care she needs next. This will mean she can stop moving as at this point even short drives are painful.
This give a little is to support us both in Shelley's last move home to Oamaru and what she needs to be supported & comfortable as things progress and there is a good chance (& ALL of our hope) she will have one last burst of good & mobile energy & we will take last minutes trips to her favourite places & her favourite people. She can no longer drive to long distance so this will mean last minute flights.
This Give a little is managed by Jae, funds will go directly to support Shelley. If you are able to help in anyway we are forever grateful.
Shelley is my little sister from another mister, who shares my sisters & has many brothers.
Settling up housing, healthcare, travel expenses.
We are all settled in!!! 8 December 2023
We have found a spacious & peaceful home for Shelley to rest in Oamaru, with an amazing view from her bed when slow days are needed
We've been able to get the things we need to make her comfortable thanks to all of your generosity & love, for that we are forever grateful.
We are looking forward a quiet Christmas filled with love x
