Sheryn Miller-O'Donnell & Family Need Your Support!

Sheryn Miller-O'Donnell (Sher) is an adored mum, partner, daughter, sister & friend.

She was diagnosed with a very rare and very aggressive form of cancer 3 years ago called Epithelioid Trophoblastic Tumour (ETT). From April 2016 - March 2017 she fought the fight of her life undergoing extensive chemotherapy treatment, then, after being told that was no longer working, self-funded the first two treatment cycles of Keytruda, an immunotherapy drug only being used and funded at that time in NZ for melanoma cancer treatment. By March she was in remission and stayed that way for the following 12 months.

It was with a heavy heart we learnt last April that her cancer had come back. Again, Sher dug deep and with her constant ready smile and unfailing strength to fight the fight for her family, she underwent a rigorous chemotherapy regime, together with 3 Keytruda infusions. Unfortunately the cancer became resistant to both. In October Sher underwent extreme high strength doses of several chemotherapies followed by a recovery Stem Cell Transplant over a gruelling 3 month period.

Sadly, Sher & Mark got the devastating news 5 weeks ago that the Chemotherapy/Stem Cell Transplant was unsuccessful. She is back on chemotherapy but this is not sustainable as the cancer will soon become resistant and organs may start to fail. There is one other option we can seek which is another immunotherapy drug but this is not funded. At a cost of $60,000 for each 3-4 month treatment programme, we need to help raise funds for this to happen.

Sher's cancer is incredibly aggressive so time is very much against her. Treatment will start next week. If you are in any way able to help, we know Sher, Mark and family will be eternally grateful.
