Shoes for Deserving Kids to play Sports

It all started when I bought a couple pairs of Lebron 17 basketball shoes & 2 pairs of football boots with the hope to connect them with deserving kids who needed them to participate in sport. I asked for nominations for the 4 pairs of shoes but was inundated with hundreds of touching stories from kids that aren't able to pay sport due to the high cost of shoes/uniform/equipment or were playing in unsuitable shoes.

Growing up in a solo mother family myself with 3 kids, I wanted to learn gymnastics & my brother hockey. I know it was really tough for mum with all the costs & required gear...sometimes sport isn't so accessible if you don't have the gear. A lot of the stories I am hearing are from families financially impacted by COVID-19 & now heading into Level 1 where sport is allowed, I hate to think there are kids who might not be able to participate in sport just because they don't have gear.

I initially bought 4 pairs, I'd love if we could gift more instead of turning so many kids away who would benefit so much from receiving sport shoes. My aim is to give at least 30 kids a new pair of shoes. However this will cost us at a bare minimum, $2000 to buy them all a pair. All selected children/families will also receive a box of Moustache cookies (which will be donated by Moustache Milk & Cookie Bar - no donations from Givealittle will be used for this. Donated money will ONLY be put towards shoes).

I know we are living in a tough world right now, so if you have the means to & would like to even share one dollar toward their shoes, it would mean the world to me & to the kids. Kia Kaha x
