Help with vet costs for Whanganui cat shot by slug gun
Manawatu / Whanganui
Aimee went missing for a week. When she returned, she appeared to have a large abscess under the base of her tail.
X-rays showed that Aimee had actually been shot in the back side with a slug gun.
The abscess that had formed around the area was large, and had gone in through her anus up to her colon.
She has had surgery to clear the abscess, and that has helped, but there could be ongoing issues with infection as poop will be passing through the affected area all the time.
No-one ever expects their cat to be shot by heartless people. It will be a great relief to help have some of the vet costs covered, no matter the outcome for poor Aimee.
I have been working with Frances for 3 years now. Frances is a solo mum, and although she works, this sort of money is hard to raise, especially right before Christmas. We aren't sure how it will go for Aimee, but she deserves a chance.
The funds will go toward vet bills, which are already quite high and will continue. Even if Aimee doesn't make it, unfortunately the vet bill will remain. Any excess of funds will be donated to the SPCA to help another animal.
Update on Aimee 11 December 11 December 2018
Aimee has now had her second reconstructive surgery on her bottom, after the previous repair on her colon gave way. It is still unsure if this can even be fixed permanently, but everyone is doing as much as they can to try.
She's home in the meantime, with all paws crossed for a successful recovery.
Thank you all so much who have donated toward Aimee's costs.
Thank you, thank you <3
