Sia precious Mind
Auckland
I hope this helps you bub you deserve it and dont be ashamed to ask for help i know your proud but sometimes you need to just ask.
From day one of knowing my moko (grandchild)s birth we knew there would be a few issues but as time has gone on it has been nothing but heart wrenching pain watching my daughter and moko go though this.
My moko is 2yrs old she is my only one and posible my last with all the health issues her mother had conceiving her to holding her in her womb. After the birth of sia we noticed redness developing in her right eye so it was looked into apon the checkup it was discovered that my moko was born with a heart mumor, hemangioma throughout her right eye, nose, lips, ears, throat and other parts of the face. A m.r.i scan was given for her heart only to descover abnormal blood vessels. Not long after it was discovered she is blind in the right eye on top of that she started to have seizures. She is now 2yrs old and has just been in starship hospital for a major seizure that left her paralyzed on the left side where she was unable to walk or use her arm for a few days its also has giving her speech delays. Because of this doctors thought it was most likely a stroke so more tests were done. Its been discovered that Sia has only two main blood vessels reaching her brain giving her oxygen and blood which makes it even more hard on her little sick body to keep everything going like most normal people we have 4 main vessels that travel through our body to our brain but not in Sias case she only has two and now Sia is at high risk of heart failure strokes blood clots.
She will be 24/7 home cared with her mother that had dreams of going back to work and starting her career in the makeup industry but she has humbly come to terms that for now that life is on hold. Doctors also discovered that Sias right side of the brain has more folds then an average brain and with that reason comes Sia being diagnosed with epilepsy.
I made this page to help with anything my moko might need from specialized equipment in the house to posibly being able to fund a special helmet to be designed to protect the back of Sias head and neck she only has one useful eye so she falls constantly. Will she have a normal life we asked? the doctors are unsure as shes most likely has to be home schooled due to all this on top of her immune system one thing she has is a puppy that is her friend as no one is really allowed near her incase of germs since sia picks up anything like a magnet. Sia is lonely but her health is priority hence the puppy.
We love you Sia
Anything is greatly appreciated
And will go towards:
Medical costs.
Helmet that will be made specifically for sias to protect her head and neck area.(still looking into it)
Travel costs.
Safety gates and possible fencing around the house and maybe even ramps for future use.
learning tools and anything else that will benefit in sias future.
My daughter Marara Martin had dreams of getting back into the workforce to provide but due to her babies health she no longer can.
Sadly this is a 247 care thing that will continue for her daughters whole life. I just want to help
Use of funds:
We are trying to design a helmet to protect her two vessels and her brain from any kind of bang or bump since sia is blind in one eye she falls constantly.
Also to safe guard the house as there are two sets of stairs and a fall from that height could be fatal etc
No good 26 March 2018
Asked landlord if we could apply locks to doors for sias safety but its a fire hazard and now the process is to find a new home
