Funding to support medical treatment of kea in need

Kea face a range of threats on a daily basis, many of which result in kea needing urgent medical treatment to survive. Threats that commonly result in serious illness or injury include lead poisoning, attacks by feral cats and stoats, ingestion of foreign and toxic items, injuries from kill and leghold traps, vehicle strikes and human conflict. Wildlife hospitals and volunteers around NZ do a great job providing support for those birds that need lifesaving treatment but there is a huge and ongoing cost that is not currently covered by any funding. We need your help to make sure there are always funds available to support our kea team treat kea in need!
