Hi all, Brooklyn had a really good day. She was mobile to and from the loo. Eating and drinking lots. Her creatinine levels are still coming down. Fingers and toes crossed they continue to do so then she won't have to have dialysis. Thank you again for all your guys love and support. Today was a good day xo

Can not be more grateful for all the love and support towards Brooky and whanau. Have spoken with mum Rachel and both her James are extremely overwhelmed and grateful by the generosity of you all..friends, family, even strangers, it is mind blowing xo As some of you know, Brooklyn is still very sick, message from mum Rachel, arohamai for the late update xo

"Hi all, Brooklyn slept most of night. James and I went back to ronald McDonald house lastnight. I couldn't do another night in the lazyboy lol. When we arrived this morning up at the ward things were not going well on the kidneys front. It was likely she would be going into thretre to get a tube put in her stomach for dialysis ?? the renal doctors have since been thru and since she managed to do a big pee this morning they have decided to hold off and see how she goes today. So fingers crossed she can drink and pee lots today. Her blood sugar levels are up and down still but we are managing them with insulin injections. I took her sugar levels this morning and gave her 2 injections. I did pretty good but still got alot to learn. Keep you guys posted. Have a good day"

  • Message from Brooklyn's mum

An update via Brooklyn's mum Rachel for all of you who have shown outstanding support towards the family thus far. Thank you all... Treena xo

"Hi all, Brooklyn Elizabeth Rothery is doing pretty well, she's starting to show signs of the old grumpy brooklyn we love and miss lol. The doctors have put off dialysis for now because her creatinine levels are slowly coming down which means her kidneys are slowly recovering so if it keeps coming down hopefully she won't need dialysis. She's been awake, talking, smiling, eating and drinking alot more. The night nurse reduced her insulin thru the iv lastnight and her blood sugars levels stayed round the same so that's good. Today just before, they turned her iv insulin off and James and I had a go at testing her levels with our home pack we have been given. Went well, her reading was 9. The nurse showed us how to do the insulin injection in her tummy so tonight it's our turn ??. She will have to do her blood sugars levels 3-4 times a day. Thank you everyone for your kind words and support. We really appreciate it, more now that we are so far away from home. I miss you all very much xo"

  • Overwhelmed!!!

      21 September 2016

The huge and extremely fast response from donors so far has been outstanding beyond my imagination. I have spoken with Rachel a.k.a budi (Brooklyns mum) tonight, apart from being tired and still settling in, it has been a very long day for them all. She now knows lol (not sorry ;-) ) lol and is absolutely blown away with the response and could not be more grateful for what you all have contributed thus far as your help will definitely be beneficial to the whanau. I aim to thank you all individually on behalf of the whanau, please bare with me as the donations are flooding in faster than my eyes can read lol

will keep posted as much as poss! Night all xo
