Simon is going to Russia in January 2016 to undertake a stem cell transplant (HSCT) to halt his MS condition. Pls support Simon by donating!
Auckland
Simon was first diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 18.
Simon is from Auckland and is currently is in Edinburgh, living and working with his disease, all with his positive approach towards life. Now aged 36, his main health issues are balance, numbness in legs and fatigue. Simon now uses a walking stick to aid his walking.
Having made the most of every opportunity that life throws at him, he has been accepted to undergo life changing treatment that is not offered in New Zealand or Scotland, in January 2016.
This treatment will take him to Moscow, Russia, where he will undergo HSCT (hematopoiectic stem cell transplantation) which is an extensive medical programme that will utilise his own stem cells to rid him of MS. This treatment comes at a cost of more than NZ$70,000 and involves stem cell transplantation through intensive chemotherapy.
Simon’s treatment is the same treatment that Kristy Cruise went through, and shown on the TV program 60 Minutes (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRtgFdKmfdo ). So grab a coffee and watch - the last few minutes of the show will show you why Simon is travelling to Moscow.
So please donate, and help Simon become MS free (and throw away that walking stick!). Every dollar helps and will be put to use for Simons treatment and his and Janelle's travel costs. Thank you!
I am Simon's sister and will be traveling to Moscow to be his carer.
