Help Sir Ray Protect our Whānau and Tamariki from Family and Sexual Violence this Christmas.
Nationwide
Christmas is a time of giving and celebration and for most of us a chance to take a few days off and reflect on the year that was and spend precious quality time with family & friends. However, for many NZ families it’s a challenging time, where many of our children live in poverty & this sets the scene for a Christmas pandemic of family violence events.
Over the Christmas period many family violence prevention agencies are operating on skeleton staffing & when a family wants to exit a violent relationship over the Christmas period there is no room at the inn for safe housing & they are placed in emergency housing in motels.
Families in emergency accommodation are fearful that their abuser may track them down or that the other tenants in the emergency accommodation which may include drug addicts may harm them and their children.
H@H provides free, personal emergency response devices to families at risk allowing them to move around in the community knowing that if they need help just a press of a silent alarm button and help will be on its way.
The data we have collected to date shows that we can reduce violent reoffending by up to 72% and allow families to get on with their lives free from the fear of further abuse.
So, make it a happy Christmas for those families at risk & support our Christmas fundraising appeal. NZ leads the developed world with respect to family violence rates but with your help & support we can change that.
Thanks so much for your kind support.

Feedback from the community 20 August 2024
The team at Sahaayta do amazing work in the community and we're thrilled to be able to help out and to hear that the H@H Safety Watch is making a difference for both the team and the people in the community they care for.
Sahaayta director, Sucharita Varma had this to say:
“Our team has found the H@H Safety Watch to be extremely effective and an added value with respect to personal safety during home visits and independent shift duties. Especially night shifts."
"One of our high risk clients is currently wearing the watch. The ability to raise an alarm and get help discreetly has a huge psychological impact on a survivor.”
