Sir Ray Avery's HelpatHand Campaign. Help Sir Ray protect whānau from harm.

$12,190 of $500,000 goal
Given by 27 generous donors in 7 weeks

Help Sir Ray Protect our Whānau and Tamariki from Family and Sexual Violence.

Nationwide

Sir Ray founded HelpatHand 2 years ago and has helped hundreds of Whānau live their lives free from the fear of ongoing abuse. So far, the program has prevented many cases of life threatening abuse of victims from occurring.

"Working in collaboration with FVSV prevention agencies and NZ Police we have proven that the HelpatHand program can save lives and prevent FVSV reoffending. We have a proven tool to reduce our terrible rates of FVSV."

"Hundreds of Whānau have signed up for the program and we have an established referral centre at Papakura Marae as well as 5 other advocacy groups in South Auckland."

"Every day I get up and try to raise funds to extend the scale of this FVSV prevention program and I have set up this HelpatHand Bucket List campaign to secure more funding to roll out the program nationwide and make a real difference to New Zealand’s terrible rates of Family and Sexual violence abuse."

About us

Sir Ray Avery, a survivor of Family & Sexual Violence himself, is the founder of the HelptaHand Trust.

Use of funds

Feedback from the community  20 August 2024

The team at Sahaayta do amazing work in the community and we're thrilled to be able to help out and to hear that the H@H Safety Watch is making a difference for both the team and the people in the community they care for.

Sahaayta director, Sucharita Varma had this to say:

“Our team has found the H@H Safety Watch to be extremely effective and an added value with respect to personal safety during home visits and independent shift duties. Especially night shifts."

"One of our high risk clients is currently wearing the watch. The ability to raise an alarm and get help discreetly has a huge psychological impact on a survivor.”

To find out more about the work Sucharita and her team are doing you can click this link: http://www.sahaayta.org.nz

With your help we will continue to work on supporting others like Sucharita and her team.
