$1,727 donated
Given by 28 generous donors in around 7 months

Sir Colin Meads is a rugby and New Zealand legend. As a town Te Kuiti want to honour him permanently with a bronze sculpture.

Waikato

Sir Colin Meads is undoubtedly New Zealand’s most famous person alive today. Not only was he a legendary All Black but he is a legendary man that represents the good, honest, hardworking kiwi bloke that most aspire to be. People far and wide admire and respect Sir Colin. It is now time for us as a country to honor and pay tribute to this great man.

The statue will officially be unveiled on Monday 19 June at 1.30pm in Te Kuiti.

Although the statue is almost complete we are still in needs of funds for this 100% community funded project.

The sculpture will be designed and made by Natalie Stamilla (the same sculptor who created the Michael Jones sculpture at Eden Park).

We know Sir Colin has contributed to so many peoples lives throughout New Zealand, both through his rugby career and his charity work, it is now time for New Zealand to honor this great man.

The sculpture is costing a significant amount of money and is already underway. This project is being managed by Legendary Te Kuiti - a group of local volunteers who are striving to make Te Kuiti Legendary

Te Kuiti Development Inc (Legendary Te Kuiti), is a development group made up of volunteers. The purpose of Legendary Te Kuiti is simply to make Te Kuiti a legendary place to live, work, visit and do business. Legendary Te Kuiti are managing this sculpture project and all money raised will go directly to creating the Sir Colin Meads sculpture.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause. A humble man. An amazing rugby player, from good old farm stock. Loved watching him play.
