I am running 60km to raise awareness and funds for NZ Fallen Hero's trust and Canterbury Charity Hospital trust.
Canterbury
Looking for a new personal challenge for my 60th year I made a choice to run 60 kms. While working on the project I thought it would be an opportunity to do something for the community at the same time.
So talking with friends we decided to combine the two projects and run 60 Kms and raise funds for Charity. After a lengthy period it was decided to raise donations for two worthy charities.
After spending time in the NZ Army trained and prepared to provide assistance in civilian emergencies at home and abroad in coalition with our allies it was hard to just pick one cause so we decided the two most appropriate charities would be:
Canterbury Charity Hospital that provide Free surgery. http://charityhospital.org.nz/about-us/
NZ Fallen Heroes Trust that provide assistance to military Personnel and families of those that have fallen during deployment. http://www.fallenheroes.org.nz/
These are two awesome charities please take the time to check them out and like their fb pages.
Having been in the military myself helping and caring for others in need during a crisis, this gives me an opportunity to do something for two great charities.
All funds raised will go to both charities in a 50/50 split.
