Our surviving children need a place to remember their sister. Any help with funeral expenses is deeply appreciated

Otago

Skylar, out beautiful 12 year old girl, is the loved daughter of Keith "Jerry" and Machen Ross, the loved sister of Corbin Ross (10 years old) and Mariah Elmore (grown up,) loved grand daughter of Len & Norma Ross, Marlean Ross, Paul Elmore and Theresa and Pat Melton. For reasons that can never be known to us, God has chosen to pick one of the most innocent, beautiful, shining creatures to take from this world at too young an age. You can view our family on our family website link below on this site.

Her body will rest in (same price and any other plot) the community she grew up in--Broad Bay. We HAD to choose this more expensive method (other than cremation) because our girl is so innocent and young. We, our family and community, will beat a footpath to the iconic point of Broad Bay, the place she explored her entire life. ...a place we go to remember her shining spirit and beautiful laughter.

We need to pay for her Funeral, Plot and Headstone--this is a very unexpected event.

We have a temporary headstone, but need a permanent stone for all the people who knew and loved her to come and visit. Any help would be would be deeply appreciated. Words can not express the depth of our family's loss, and our gratitude for all the love we are receiving

I loved her as a father and am the person responsible for paying for the cost of the service and other costs associated with her final resting spot which is 15,000 NZD$. she will get a burial plot at the Broad Bay Cemetry where she grew up and where her friends live.

Use of funds

The funds will be used to cover any extraneous funeral services and create a gravestone for our little girl. Any extra proceeds will be spent on her brother, Corbin (less than 2 years apart.) <3

Skylars Funeral and Memorial  21 June 2019

We had a beautiful service for dear Skylar and she is resting at the iconic cemetery on the point at Broad Bay. I tried to speak at the service but found it very hard to get more than a few sentences out. I wanted to convey to everyone that we were really blessed to have had the 12 years that we had with our little Angel and not to feel too bad as she is with us in spirit. We can mourn her at home in Broad Bay in a place that we used to visit as a family. Hopefully we will be able to complete a beautiful memorial that is fitting for her. We want to put up a proper fence around her grave, have started planting (it is winter here.) We want a proper head stone where we can grieve with the rest of our community.

Corbin her brother of 10...at less than 2 years apart they were best friends as well as siblings...is standing up to everything like the amazing caring young man he is growing into. He is lonely without her jubilant presence in the house. He has a wonderful psychiatrist helping. He will have scars for life, but we will help him deal with this as much as humanly possible. <3

I also want to offer my personal thanks for the donations that we have received. The cost of everything so suddenly is seriously stressful at a time we can hardly do the next right thing. We live paycheck to paycheck and this is the worst thing that could ever happen to anyone!
