Hi, I am Faelan Lior De La Torre, I am a strong and healthy baby. I was born at 8:00 AM of November 19, 2024 at Bicol Regional Hospital and Medical Center. I was diagnosed with Encephalocele at 26 weeks via Congenital Anomaly Scan. Last March 17,2025 we travelled from Ligao City Albay to our relatives in Quezon City to have a better medical care. The mass in the occipital area of my head becomes a hindrance in my movement because I cannot lay down straight like other babies can do and might cause developmental delays and visual impairment. Last March 29, 2025, I’ve undergone Cranial MRI under Sedation to see the better images on my Encephalocele. The diagnosis turned out that I already had Hydrocephalus now due to excess cerebrospinal fluid in my brain. We have been advised to proceed first with shunting surgery ASAP to prevent the hydrocephalus from worsening. Before getting to major operation in removing the encephalocele.

This coming April 15, 2025, I will be admitted at Philippine Childrens Medical Center (PCMC) as our surgeon directed us for the Shunting Operation.

And told us to prepare atleast 400,000 Thousand Pesos for this operation alone. After this operation, I will be monitored if the mass at the occipital area of my head will shrink and hopefully remove the encephalocele.
