SocksForSmiles Christmas gifts

Hi,

My names Lucy, im 18 and live in Auckland, New Zealand. When I was 13, on the 21st of December 2015, I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, cancer in my neck. At the time I didn't know where my journey was going to go, but i was prepared to fight. After a couple of rounds of Chemo, I was cleared "Cancer free", March 2016, just a couple of week after I started high school. I was cancer free for a year, until the cancer returned. Through more chemo, loosing my hair, and a couple of opperations, on the 5th of July 2017 I was cleared "cancer free" for the second time, at 15. Around July 2018 I saw a gap in the awareness of childhood cancer, specially in teenagers and wanted to make a change. Thats when on the 25th of July 2018, "SocksForSmiles" was founded. At SocksForSmiles, we raise money through selling some crazy pairs of socks, and then 100% of the profits we make go towards buying Christmas presents for these kids in hospital, to show them that they are not alone. SocksForSmiles has taken off in the past 2 years, reaching, Magizines, Tv, Radio stations, and many online social media platforms. My dream is that these Christmas gifts packs are going to give these children hope to strength to keep fighting, and to put smiles on there faces through a through battle, I am all too familiar with.

With the impact from Covid-19, We haven't seen the funds, as much as previous years to purchase these Christmas presents for these kids. All I want to show these kids is that there not alone and that these crazy pairs of socks can put smiles on their faces.
