#Softballislife – Help us get Savannah-Lee to São Paulo, Brazil, for the U18 WBSC Qualifying Tournament!

$860 of $20,000 goal
Given by 15 generous donors in 7 weeks

After securing a great result in São Paulo, she will turn her attention to the New Zealand summer season, preparing for the 2025 World Cup.

Auckland

Our beloved Savannah-Lee (17yo) has been selected for the Junior White Sox softball team. We’re looking for your help to get her to São Paulo.

Where it all began

At 9 years old, Savannah-Lee dove into the world of softball with the Manurewa Mets Under 13 team. But it wasn't until she won a championship in Australia that she knew she'd found her sport. Back then, she was testing the waters with all sorts of activities—rugby, football, netball—you name it. Yet, there was something about softball that just clicked for her.

From Counties to the World Stage

World Games 2025 | Chengdu, China

Training for the WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup in Sao Paulo, Brazil has been intense. Savannah-Lee attended a recent training camp in Wellington, and the next one is 31 May-3 June. This will enable her to travel to Dallas for a pre-cup tournament and then Brazil for the World Cup from the 9th to the 31st of July. The top 2 countries to compete within the final in this qualifying event, qualify to compete in the World Cup in 2025.

Family is her backstop

Savannah-Lee’s juggling a lot, with a busy final year of school (of which she is also a high performer – finishing top in business, biology and physical education) and intensive training to prepare for her world stage debut. Her whānau enables her to throw everything she has into softball. When she’s not studying, training and spending time with family she’s out in nature – she can’t go past a good sunset.
