Solo Mother having a rough year

A long time friend of mine of 15 years has had a rough year in fact a rough life and has been trying to get herself up on her feet but keeps getting knocked down . She is a solo mother with a baby living in the lower north island. She can not work due to health conditions and has recently lost her stepfather in Whangarei who was tragically killed on a motorcycle a few months ago. My good friend's Mother in Whangarei is not dealing with it well and has major health problems. She cannot move away to be with her mother due to child care arrangements but would like to be able to travel to see her mother on a regular basis to help and support her . My friend would like a good reliable cheap car around $5,000 to be able to achieve this . I myself am a solo Dad of 2 girls one of which has a terminal illness so I don't work either and I'm her full caregiver , I try to help where I can but have limited funds .
