Auckland
This year, Bruce is gearing up for an exhilarating challenge in celebration of his 68th birthday. He will be attempting 68 somersaults from a platform on the awe-inspiring tower built in Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour at Wynyard Quarter, specially constructed for the 2023 Red Bull World Cliff Diving World Series grand season finale. It’s worth noting that while Bruce takes on his daring feat from a 6m platform there will be 24 competing athletes from around the world diving from up to 27m at speeds of 85km/ph as they compete for global victory on Saturday and Sunday, January 27-28, 2024.
On his 67th birthday last year, Bruce Hopkins back flipped 67 times into the ocean, raising over $2,500 for GRG. Now, at 68, he's aiming for 68 somersaults, continuing his fundraising for GRG.
