This page has been setup to assist Jules financially during this very difficult time. Jules is obviously unable to work.
Wellington
In late 2018 our beautiful friend Jules Hunt received the devastating news that she had developed a massive brain tumour.
At that point, surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy were her only options.
She endured 10 hours of surgery and months of radiation therapy and chemotherapy hoping to prolong her life by 12-24 months.
In April Jules started having rare olfactory seizures and developing tenderness behind her right eye, Jules was sent for a second MRI. The following day her Oncologist advised her that not only had the chemo etc. not had any effect but that a second tumour had developed behind her right eye and that sadly, there is no further treatment available and Jules is only looking at a life expectancy of 3-6 months.
Jules has been off work for 8 months now, before diagnosis she worked with physically and intellectually disabled adults and is an internationally recognised artist who regularly travelled to exhibt her artwork, she can now no longer work drive or travel and her lovely wife sandra has become her full time carer.
As traditional treatments are no longer an option, Julies will now look towards alternative treatments to help prolong her life
Trying to raise funds for my lovely friend Jules to alleviate the financial strain that she is now under and let her focus on the important stuff
The funds will be used to help assist with day to day living costs, travelling to from Kapiti to Wellington for frequent appointments and to assist Jules so that the financial strain is lessened.
Cancers not stealing this show 6 May 2019
Jules was recently invited to participate in "A Shared Space" art exhibition. She wasn't quite sure if she would be well enough to participate, but not wanting to let anyone down, she just went for it and opening night was a great success for all the artists involved. To everyone who has donated thank you so much it is motivating Jules to keep pushing on and have hope.
