I'm calling in the funds to record my first studio album. I was going to do this back in America, but a moment of happenstance arose recently and everything is aligning to record it here, in New Zealand, just a short drive from Highden Temple, with Creative Sounds Society/The Stomach.
For me, this album is a ballad of soul initiation. It is an invocation of the inner worlds, a singular remembrance of the soul, lost rites of passage, the liminal space between dying myths and ones about to be born. It is an album of hope toward where we're heading, and one to signal the end of our current civilization.
I have always felt that my music does not belong to me. I have been lazy and scared to stand behind it more. I have also known for a long time that this music needs to get out there, particularly for the times we're living in—ones of uncharted territory, crisis, revelation, and irrevocable change.
And now I want to bring that manifestation all the way through to a studio recorded, 10 track album and have these living myths get out there.

Figuring $1000/per track
1 Full Studio Day (7 hours): $315/per day
Accompanying Musicians: $200/per day

Soul of the World Release Date! 24 November 2024
It's been a little while, so wanted to give a near-final update here and to those who helped support the creation of this project.
Soul of the World, the 10 track album, will be released into the world on January 1, 2025. I will be in Antarctica when it happens, offline. And that feels exciting.
The last couple months have been busy ones and we resumed studio time in the last couple weeks. The last 2.5 weeks consisted of all the post-production, mixing and some final recording.
The tracks will be mastered and ready to go by Wednesday.
We have some new sounds that have joined the album: a banjo, NASA's sound of the black hole M87, and the birdsong on the land of Highden Temple in New Zealand.
I am going to release Temple Floor as a single, probably in the next week or so.
The album will be available on all streaming platforms and I'm also going to set up pre-sales on Bandcamp at a sliding-scale, from $1. Every sale tracked on Bandcamp gets sent to the national charts, so this is a great way to spread the word and build momentum. The more people get the album on here, the better.
Ultimately, though, I have no idea where this album is going to go when it hits the world.
I hope these songs and myths spread far and wide. I am so grateful for all your support. It feels like only the beginning and there's no time I'd want Soul of the World to come out other than now.
