South Auckland teens aim to travel to Wellington to play in MEFA (MusicWorks Ensemble Festival Aotearoa) in September, 2024.

$1,267 of $10,000 goal
Given by 22 generous donors in 8 weeks

We are madly fundraising to enable students to attend this event, as it is really hard out there for so many families.

Papakura, Auckland

A group of 25 keen student musicians from Rosehill College are aiming to travel down to Wellington in term 3, 2024. Under the direction of their Music teacher, they have been hard at work practising jazz charts such as "Rockin' Robin", "Feelin' Good", "Mambo number 5", "Skyfall", "Respect" and a post-modern jukebox version of "Creep"; in order to wow audiences and perform at MEFA.(MusicWorks Ensemble Festival Aotearoa).

Our singers have been working on "Bare Necessities', "Rhythm of Life", "Everything is Awesome" and "Any Dream Will Do" and will present these uplifting songs at MEFA too.

Most of these students have never been to Wellington before and are extremely excited to be part of this Music Tour. As well as the performances and music workshops in Wellington, students will also enjoy a visit to Te Papa Museum and Weta Workshop. Many of our students have not had an experience like this, and it will certainly provide memories that will last a life time. Most have not ever travelled to Wellington, let alone performed in a Music Festival.

As many families are struggling to meet the costs of this 5 night/6 day tour, your donation would be greatly appreciated! The funds from this page will provide sponsorship for some and it will subsidise the cost for others.

Thank you for reading our story and for considering a donation.
