I am volunteering in Tonga with South Pacific Animal Welfare to treat sick animals, desexing etc. Helping me fundraise for my trip.
Auckland
I am a student at Unitec studying in Veterinary nursing (diploma). I have decided, this year, to take part of the volunteer group going to Tonga with SPAW (South Pacific Animal Welfare) and other students from Unitec in December 2019. Veterinarians, nurses and student nurses are all volunteering to go Tonga to treat sick animals, desexing, vaccination, flea and worm treatment. Tonga do not have any facility to treat animals. SPAW is unfortunately the only hope for sick/injured animals.
Myself and fellow student are organising a fundraising quiz in Auckland in September. But I do know that not everyone can make it. It is why I am opening this page to give the opportunity to those who still want to help me but can't make it to the quiz. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you for your support.
The fund will be used to cover my cost for the flights, accomodation, food, course etc.. Extra money would go to SPAW or any products needed for the animal during the trip.
Awesome Tonga trip 11 December 2019
I just got back from an amazing week volunteering in Tonga. We had a record number of surgeries done 216 as well as over 300 consults. We were 25 vet, vet nurses and vet nurses student from Unitec/SPAW team. Great team and work over the week. It was an amazing experience for me and I hope to be able to help again in the future. Its one of the 3 trips that SPAW does in Tonga and which is needed to look after our furry friends. Thank you so much for supporting me fundraising for this amazing cause.
