Raising funds for my wife to purchase a spa for treatment and to help her to find some relief from living with CRPS.
Auckland
My name is Natasha. I was born and raised in Auckland and am a mental health nurse. I met the woman of my dreams, Vicky, in 2013. Our home is our little sanctuary and we poured our heart and souls into making it our little piece of paradise so we could get married in the backyard Nov 2015.
A car accident in Feb 2016 left Vicky unable to work with a long term disability, chronic pain and fatigue from CRPS (complex regional pain syndrome) that predominantly affects her left hand. In a nut shell her nervous system is now super oversensitive and perceives just about everything (yup hand holding, gripping, carrying, hot weather, cold weather, seeing someone else in pain) as an intensely painful threat. We are now trying to rebuild and adapt our lives.
We are at the point where medical treatment has done/ is doing all that it can. We currently spend time and money travelling to hot pools to give her temporary relief and enable her to do physio for her hand/arm. We passed the first anniversary of the accident in Feb and are now accepting that CRPS will be a long term presence in our lives. I am fundraising for a spa pool so Vicky has access to the warm water at home when ever or however long she needs to help her day to day management of CRPS and give her a little peace from the pain.
Vicky is my beautiful wife, my best friend and my soulmate. I know she is too proud to do this for herself. I have felt so useless over the past year and finally have found something I can do to help ease her pain..
Funds will be used to purchase a spa and the initial set up costs
Finish line in sight! 25 October 2017
Hi there,
Vicky and I are re-opening our page after a trip home to family showed us the real life affecting difference regular access to hydrotherapy has on CRPS and vickys quality of life. It gave us renewed hope we will get Vicky daily access to hydrotherapy by the end of the year.
We received offers to contribute towards our goal and so have decided to reopen the page as a simple means to do this.
What you do need to know is we have raised some money privately so our goal is 6,000 now!!
