Fundraising for Intellectually Disabled adult special olympians to attend the 2025 National Summer Games in Christchurch

Auckland

Fundraising to send Intellectually Disabled adults to the Special Olympics National Summer games in Christchurch 2025. The team consists of 8 carers and 14 athletes. Our athletes will be competing in Equestrian, Swimming and TenPin bowling. It costs per athlete/carer for the 5 day competition. This includes registration costs, accommodation, all meals and transport. Most of our athletes are on benefits and have very limited funds. Most don't have parents alive to support or supplement them. Hence the reason we are appealing for help raising funds for this event. Any donation is most welcome as every little bit counts. Thanks for your consideration/donation.

About us

We provide sporting opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities. They can compete in a supported, caring environment with fellow athletes. It also provides them opportunity to socialize safely.

Use of funds

To cover costs of competition registration, including accommodation, meals and transport.

Should there be any surplus funds the money will be used by SOHBC to cover training costs for athletes.
