Canterbury

Amy has being riding for Special Olympics Canterbury Equestrian team for 15 years of which she started firstly at age 10 with RDA. Amy has Global Developmental Dyspraxia which means things take longer to achieve and co-ordination is affected. A health professional said to us that Amy wouldn't work or achieve great things and she is doing both. She inspires others to achieve and supports other children with needs and tells her story.

Amy constantly has daily challenges and life can be difficult at times, fortunately Amy is a very positive person and commits to her goals despite knock backs. She's applied to World games on 2 other occasions and was not successful in going. This time is her time now after a lot of work selected as the only South Island Equestrian Rider to represent New Zealand In the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi March 2019. Please support Amy to Go.

Please check out: Star.Kiwi (Halswell) in search for her interview.
