MRI for Narvi 🐾

  • Narvi has crossed the rainbow bridge

This is an incredibly devastating and difficult update to post.

On 1st May, we received news that Narvi had deteriorated throughout the night and that morning. After such a hopeful evening on the 30th, the autoimmune disease became more aggressive, attacking the cells in her brain and caused 3 seizures.

We went in to visit her and she was almost lifeless. She was hooked up to oxygen and IV medication & pain relief.

She had been fighting such a tough fight to stay alive, but we could see she was just exhausted and had nothing left to fight with, she was losing the battle.

We sat and laid with her, giving her endless kisses, cuddles and telling her how loved she is and how much better she made our lives.

Narvi was put to sleep, peacefully and knowing exactly how much she meant to us.

The whole team at ARC are just incredible and beautiful people, they took such amazing care of not only Narvi, but made sure we were looked after and updated regularly throughout each day and night. We are so thankful Narvi was in the best care, and that absolutely every single thing possible was done to try and save her.

Unfortunately, a very hefty mountain of vet bills are still left to pay off despite not brining Narvi home.

No regrets whatsoever are held for the money spent trying to save her, she was worth every last cent trying to save.

Rest in peace our sweet Narvi, we love you more than words could describe. 🤍🐾🤍🐾

We are feeling good right now! The vet nurse let us feed her since we arrived for our visit at her dinner time, she had some yummy meatballs that she was excited to eat 🥰 We stayed with her from 5:30pm until 7pm. She still can't move or sit up by herself, she can only move her tail and head. However she did occasionally stretch her legs a little. Compared to yesterday she has more life in her eyes, she seemed very aware of who was around her and anytime we stopped giving her attention, she would move her head around to see what we were doing. She is staying there tonight, and there is a possibility she will also be there tomorrow night but we are playing things by ear. The neurologist will call me in the morning with her next update xx

Narvi is still at ARC getting the most amazing care by an awesome team of people. We visited her last night, she was responsive to our talking and seemed to know who we were and that we were there. The Neurologist believes that Narvi has either an immune mediated disorder of the brain or an inflammatory brain disease. I had a call with the neurologist this morning who updated me that she is pretty much the same as last night which is a good sign in the sense that she is not deteriorating. She ate her breakfast that they gave her. She is going to stay with them for another night with more monitoring and they will give her some chemo medication. There is a possibility that Narvi will be able to come home tomorrow afternoon if things are looking well and we are able to give her intensive care (I work full time from home and the whole household adores Narvi so she will get constant supervision and smothered in love once she is home). Thanks for your ongoing support!

  • Auto-immune or brain tumor?

This morning I spoke to a neurologist about Narvi's status overnight. She has deteriorated a bit since yesterday and is showing signs of pressure in her brain, something is causing swelling. It could be an auto-immune disease or possibly a brain tumor. The reality of a tumor is that there is not much they will be able to do going forward and Narvi may be put to sleep. If it is an auto-immune disease she can get treatment. We will find out today what it is and what will happen going forward.

This morning her condition had worsened so we took her to ARC as an emergency visit. She is being monitored and having some tests done. The specialist called with an update that they think that she has a problem in her brain, specifically in her vestibular system (which is the part in our brain that provides us with a sense of balance). They would like to do an MRI scan to confirm if it is a brain disease. There is a possibility of it being bleeding in her brain or a tumor but these are less likely due to her being so young. She is now on painkillers that will help with any possible brain inflammation and we will have a further update tomorrow after the MRI scan. Thank you for all the support!
