Vet bill fundraiser for Liv’s pup Narvi
Auckland
Hi all,
My friend Liv (Olivia) has just had some heartbreaking news that her sweet fur baby Narvi has a spinal injury.
Vet bills this past week have already accumulated to over $350, her current specialist bill is roughly estimated to be $3k and we’re looking at around $6k for her MRI scan on the 29th April 2024.
Updates:
22nd April Narvi had breathing difficulty and was too sore to lay down, she was taken to the Veterinary Clinic on Tuesday 23rd. She was given pain relief and anti-inflammatories based on the exam given by the vet concluding there was some back pain. At this point there was no ataxia (loss of coordination).
26th - Narvi started showing signs of Ataxia and was taken back into the vet, the vet decided referral to a specialist (neurologist) for a CT/MRI would be best as they suspect there is something going on with her spinal cord as messages aren’t getting from her brain to her legs.
(More on Narvi’s story is posted in ‘Updates’)
1st May - Narvi devastatingly passed away. She had fought and suffered for so long, she couldn’t do it anymore and we couldn’t let her.
We left the vet that day absolutely broken beyond words (we still are), without our beautiful Narvi, and with Olivia owing thousands spent on the best care trying to save her baby’s life. Narvi was worth every cent but Olivia is heartbroken and struggling.
We appreciate everyone’s love, support and donations. Whether it’s $2, $5, $20, absolutely every single dollar helps.

Narvi has crossed the rainbow bridge 3 May 2024
This is an incredibly devastating and difficult update to post.
On 1st May, we received news that Narvi had deteriorated throughout the night and that morning. After such a hopeful evening on the 30th, the autoimmune disease became more aggressive, attacking the cells in her brain and caused 3 seizures.
We went in to visit her and she was almost lifeless. She was hooked up to oxygen and IV medication & pain relief.
She had been fighting such a tough fight to stay alive, but we could see she was just exhausted and had nothing left to fight with, she was losing the battle.
We sat and laid with her, giving her endless kisses, cuddles and telling her how loved she is and how much better she made our lives.
Narvi was put to sleep, peacefully and knowing exactly how much she meant to us.
The whole team at ARC are just incredible and beautiful people, they took such amazing care of not only Narvi, but made sure we were looked after and updated regularly throughout each day and night. We are so thankful Narvi was in the best care, and that absolutely every single thing possible was done to try and save her.
Unfortunately, a very hefty mountain of vet bills are still left to pay off despite not brining Narvi home.
No regrets whatsoever are held for the money spent trying to save her, she was worth every last cent trying to save.
Rest in peace our sweet Narvi, we love you more than words could describe. 🤍🐾🤍🐾
